Pssst, if you go to Stéle’s website rn, you’ll see a BIG, HUGE announcement!
(also spoiled right here. hehe ⬇️)
has just announced their first-ever, week-long residency/immersive pop-up event with Givaudan: Florstalgia!
Florstalgia (happening at Stéle’s Nolita location) reimagines the seven floral icons of perfumery: rose, tuberose, violet, iris, carnation, jasmine, and ylang ylang. Through seven perfumes created by Givaudan VP Perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux exclusively for this exhibit, experiences the magic of flowers.
Starting this Monday, May 12, and going through Sunday, May 18, you can book a guided session of the exhibit; RSVP to a special Smell + Tell featuring Jake, Matt, and of course, Rodrigo Flores-Roux (and moderated by ~yours truly~); and/or RSVP to attend a floral masterclass led by aforementioned VP Perfumer Extraordinaire.
If you have the time, I think you should attend all three(!!), but let me tell you about this special Smell + Tell, since that’s the event I am co-hosting. ❤️
Perfume Room presents: Smell + Tell
A Conversation with Rodrigo Flores-Roux and Stéle Co-Founders Jake Levy & Matt Belanger (moderated by me)
Thurs, May 15, from 6-8P @ Stéle Nolita (179 Mott St.)
Cost: FREE
RSVP here <3

If you listen to Perfume Room, you’ve heard nearly every perspective in the fragrance world — from Rodrigo Flores-Roux’s insights as a Master Perfumer to Jake Levy and Matt Belanger’s experiences as trailblazers in the retail space.
But rarely do these voices come together in one conversation.
At Smell + Tell, you’ll get an intimate, immersive, and of course, entertaining behind-the-scenes look at the role of florals in perfumery, from the perfumer’s desk all the way to store display (and of course, we’ll be smelling notes, accords, and perfumes along the way!).
What makes a floral perfume “beginner” versus “advanced” from both a creator’s and a retailer’s point of view?
Which floral notes are *blooming* right now, and how can we trace them back to the vintage florals who paved the way?
What might our floral futures hold, and what are consumers really seeking (or avoiding) in when it comes to scents from the garden?
If any of these questions pique your interest, have I got plans for you this Thursday!
Consider it a… *peak behind the curtain* if you will ;) ;) ;)
The event is COMPLETELY FREE. (Light refreshments will be provided.) RSVP required (so we can plan accordingly! :))
